Pros

I have been working in BMC Software for 3 years. I got regular meetings with the management to acknowledge the fact that I'm doing well in my role. In 3 years, I have been promoted twice! If you are doing well in your job, BMC is very flexible and also great for rewards and visibility.

Pros

1 - The people - Individuals are driven, professional, and there is a demonstrable sense of ownership of role which manifests in results being delivered en masse. Success leaves clues - so one can learn a great deal from those individuals by taking the initiative to seek it out. Also a superb, tried and tested Sales training & Methodology. BMC is a game changer for any sales career. 2 - The Product. BMC's "smart guys" really are the smartest guys in the industry, which is why C@, and 1BM have to compete on cost as their solutions just don't stack up - especially for the Mainframe. Refreshing in the extreme to meet customers who welcome the Vendor back year after year.

Cons

There are some inconsistencies of Account Management between Enteprise (DS) and MF teams. However, this is being dealt with in a well publicised move to create "One BMC" so this "Con" will become somewhat irrelevant.

Pros

- empowered to take decisions - some product are industry leader - good compansation - less politics & good people

Cons

- Even after having good products , BMC is loosing out on innovation and product development strategy , which would further kill this good company - R&D leadership has no direction on product vision or innovation, sales leadership sucks ... no control on what is happening on the ground or taking any feedback macanism - Now slowly becoming a political powerhouse ... more focus on individual objectives to protect there position rather company objectives
