Pros

Management's push to streamline existing projects.

Cons

Too many layoffs, experienced employees with several years experience let go with 30 mins notice, replaced with freshers with zero domain knowledge.

Pros

Large company with a lot of resources, and receiving railroad retirement.

Cons

I worked at this company for 10yrs, progressively moving through the ranks. There is very Incompetent C suite and upper level management. Very toxic working environment where little to no one is to be trusted. Unrealistic, inconsistent, and unclear goals, projects, and objectives for the company, team, and employees. Constant geographic relocating. Vertical growth is only gained through connections and/or being the proper demographic, not merit. Zero equity or care for the employees. Pay is subpar for what you do and put up with as are benefits, especially since they took away the pension.

Pros

If you last 30yrs, you MIGHT have a decent retirement. Current health benefits are adequate but the company is trying to take those away.

Cons

Where to start? Working without a contract or raise for the past 3yrs. BNSF should stand for Better Not Start a Family. If you do have a family and might need time off for illness or event, this company will punish you for it. They even retaliate for using FMLA. Local management lies to its employees, they say they will pay a penalty amount if you agree to perform work outside your normal scope, then turn around and deny the pay. They say safety is their number one priority but really Senior management only cares about posting record profits for their shareholders and gives zero care to the people who actually make those profits a reality. If safety was a priority they would allow maintenance on their equipment. Instead they don't allow sufficient time to perform safety checks and skip regular maintenance on track and locomotives.
