Outsourcing and cost saving initiatives are depleting the work force, the best employees leave, the worse ones get promoted the rest get let go. It's hard to envision long term careers with this being a reality.

I marvel at all the glowing reviews i'm seeing here lately and wonder if we work for the same company. Or are they planted? hmmm Cronyism is rampant. This is a very political organization where management and higher ups are more intent on keeping their power and paychecks/bonuses than doing the right thing by the company, the employees and shareholders. The markets are going to continue to put the squeeze on big financial companies like ours and revenue will continue to be pressured. In response they keep "reorganizing" by cutting positions (with the good people often the ones they let go). Morale is terrible; even veterans who are highly respected feel that it's only a matter of time before they are shown the door. I have heard several employees say something to this effect: "When I swipe my ID card at the turnstile and it still works, I guess i still have my job." Managers are inconsistent and HR is a tool.
