Good doorway into the industry but limited growth

Pros

Management is personable. Easy to concentrate on the work at hand while not getting pulled in many directions.

Cons

Limited career growth due to constant hiring freezes. More responsibilities get piled on without proper compensation. Coworkers tend to make mistakes and refuse to correct what is being done wrong.

Pros

This is a good company to get your foot in the door and gain experience in financial services. They are one of the few companies with a high volume of true "entry level" jobs.

Cons

The pay is well below competitive. It is easy to move laterally, but very difficult to move up. Management has promotion 'rules' that seem to disqualify the most qualified candidates and reward mediocre performance based soley on number of years at the firm.

Co-workers are professional and helpful. Compensation was good. Work life balance good.

Cons

Morale is very low. Continuous lay offs. No raises or bonuses. Unrealistic expectations from management. Management ignorant of what is actually going on in the company. One dimensional plan to improve is cost cutting. Internal and External customer service has steadily declined over the past decade.
