Cons
This is for people of color, particularly Black women. I Love us for real. You will need to call upon the strength of the ancestors to work here. If you absolutely must, don’t. But if you do, ask for more money (you will need it for alcohol/therapy) and have a plan to leave within 2 years. Just long enough to get the name on your resume and not look like you are job hopping. Know that you won’t be challenged, developed, mentored or sponsored. Know that you will constantly face micro AND macro aggressions. You will find yourself either becoming angry or completely checking out and disassociating to cope. There are some amazingly great managers, but they are few and far in between. And overworked. Please go where you are celebrated, not where you are barely tolerated.
