Pros
+ Renumeration is about ~20% higher than average at the same position + ability to choose your equipment that is delivered to you by a luxury mercedes car. + PPM fund where employer doubles the amount of monthly paid funds + somewhat helpful HR but limited in their responsibility + free personal classes of foreign language + good team leads
Cons
- A need to fullfill multiple roles (QA, TA, Dev, DevOps, Support Iine, Scrum Master, etc) and multi tasking (it is common to throw team into the project with old / obsolete tech stack, or stack team incompetent with / unfamiliar with) - It is impossible to get a comment from accountants in case of error - poor HR support (especially) during Covid remote work. - You rat-race with Indian colleagues to get place in the same project so you need to perform MUCH better than they (work 12+ h, constantly over-energetically propose solutions / help / etc, and showcasing how you improved business. - Huge terrible open-spaces where it is impossible to concentrate or hard to converse - Attitude that task "should be done by tomorrow" even though there is no estimates or clear view if it really needs. - Majority of IT teams use Polish as main work language. So spoken English is not welcome. - Somewhat poor planning - A lot of surveillance (they even boast how much particular team spent time in IDE or other programming tools) - Rigid bureaucracy ( it is hard to see payslips, it is hard to plan a day off, etc) - No taxbreak for IT - Reporting, reporting, reporting (you report your status 3 times a day what you have done for a day) - 3 hours on Friday where you learn particular IT skill in the direction "suggested" by manager and then "share" it during online meeting. Sometimes it turns into "special olimpics" where you have to complete as much as you can in the topic elected entirely by Senior Management - tons of unnecessary meetings with hordes of irrelevant people. I calculated that those meetings eat out around 60% of my work time. - A need to pass yet another irrelevant corporate training at least once a week. Or you would be escalated... - Race and gender biased HR and recognition processes. Focus on diversity and inclusion starts to bother you from the first page of the vacancy description. This expands further when you receive lots of spam messages praising employees of particular origin / "race", gender or appearance. This often echoed in sacking / demoting senior leads / managers while promoting / keeping people solely on basis of extreme Diversity and Inclusion standards. As a conclusion, this ends up that departments have incompetent high disintegrated teams but diverse and protected by Diverse and Inclusion policies from being fired.
