Thank you for your post. Although this review was 1 1/2 years ago, we want to respond with the many thinigs we are now doing to make this a great place to work.
Each year in November we have BOXX Lunches in small group settings where employees can give us their input into the annual company wide goals for the next calendar year. We have a kick off meeting each January that tells the employees how we did or didn't meet our prior year goals and what is in store for us in the next year. Some of the things that came out of these meetings that are more "fun" in nature, are a request from our cyclists to add a shower .... done. Request from employees for a ping pong table ..... done. Wellness programs in general, like weight loss program ..... done.
We brought back our HR Manager in October 2012. Since then we have instituted annual Diversity Awareness classes and Employee Harrassment Awareness classes through e-learning. We did have 2 big lay offs back in 2009 which occured during a down turn in the economy. Since then we have only had layoffs when specific positions were eliminated. We have grown since those periods and are now on the right track to grow again and have been doing so this past year. In fact 3 employees have come back here because they loved their job and the people here.
We have 3 elements that describes our compensation program that include, competitive salary, salary booster program which is bonus based, and an online performance management quarterly review process that provides employees opportunities to grow in there job so that they are eligible for promotions etc. We review local area salary levels on all of our jobs at least bi-annually and as needed as well.
We agree that health benefits are expensive, but that is true everywhere. The company pays about 75% of all premiums for employees.
We know we aren't perfect, but we are listening and trying to make this place a fun, productive and great place to work.
