Pros

The culture and leadership of BTS is second to none. Great co-workers, interesting projects, and copious learning opportunities. No one will ever tell you "no" if you want to take ownership and develop something new - the team will support you every step of the way. Clients can be demanding, but leadership will support challenging projects.

Cons

Work/life balance is non-existent. Weekend, night, and morning work is on par for the course. 50+ hour weeks are the norm, but it's typically more. There's occasional slowdowns in workloads, but they're few and far between. Covid has accelerated the work-life imbalance - while it was somewhat tenable before Covid, the past year has led many to burnout. Assuming a 40-45 hour week, the pay is in-line with the industry - but when considering per-hour pay, the numbers look less cheerful. Unlimited PTO is a nice perk and team members respect this, however actually taking time off is difficult since you're still responsible for getting your work completed. Expect to work on days off. Pay between practices for the same title varies significantly. If you're not on the SME track (and sometimes even if you are), you are responsible for sales beginning at the Consultant level.

Pros

Dynamic work environment, shorter engagments, high exposure, flat-organization, positive attitudes, industry-agnostic, work with people across the organization and world - overall great place to be in your early career. You will be hard pressed to find a consulting group that will give you so much freedom, exposure, accountability and respect.

Cons

Not all projects/programs are created equal in terms of how interesting they are Unless you take the SME track, you will have to start thinking about selling one you reach consultant/sr consultant level Lower than average comp compared to industry standard Can feel a little like the "wild west" in how unstructured and free flowing things can be. Every project is different.
