Pros

Great culture that provides ample opportunity for self-motivated professionals. Engagements are high profile C-suite initiatives that allow consultants first hand interactions with senior level execs. Ability to drive impact at local office and national level. I had great access to our senior leaders and felt my opinion was very important to them.

Cons

Coaching of employees; this has improved but there is room for better employee development. You are asked to juggle a lot of priorities, which can be challenging at times. The job can require a lot of travel for extended periods of time.

Pros

BTS is a great place to work if you are new in your career and want to grow and develop and given opportunity. It's fast pace, but plenty of variety, career growth experiences, flexibility, and good benefits. Collaboration is key along with the ability to sell, design, develop and facilitate solutions.

Cons

Experienced hires don't quite fit the mold and have a more challenging time figuring out how and where to add value if not in the mainstream SABA practice.

Dishonest recruiting

Pros

$1000 bonuses, fair annual raises, multiple location opportunities.

Cons

In the 2 times I have worked for BTS I have been misled on the environment/situation I would be working in. Which has led to serious issues. The first time, I was recruited I moved my family across the country for a position that had 16 turnovers over a 2 year period due to the toxic government leadership. I was not given any heads up and was put in a seriously challenging position for both my career and financial wellbeing. The second time I took a job with BTS, I was told the contract had just been awarded for 5 years. However, once I arrived, again having moved my family across the country, I found out the contract was on a 6 month extension. There are other issues on the administrative side, and all I will recommend is to document everything. You WILL need the proof sometime down the road. All in all, I would say at times BTS was good, but mostly they operate in the morally gray to keep that top line up. Was fired over voicemail, for not working overtime (just working a standard 40 hour work week at night!) while I was recovering from the flu. No notice, no conversation, just canned. If management had taken a moment to speak with me, I could have provided email proof I had approval to take a slight step back while I and my family all recovered from the flu.
