Pros

Good benefits and pay, business is growing…

Cons

Every department is constantly beyond stretched thin, has been since I started several years ago. Amount of work has skyrocketed but support from leadership isn’t there, takes months for management to get approval to add roles where desperately needed if they ever do get approved. Work life balance doesn’t exist when projects are due…. People like to say it’s there but it’s not. Very Covid conscious but requiring being back in office midsummer without considering child care for employees with children with just a few weeks left is very rude. Wants to be flexible with returning to office but not offering total hybrid is not flexible. There’s a ton of products to keep track of, many hard internal systems to understand and keep things correct.

Pros

I really enjoyed my working relationships that I formed during my time with Badger Meter. My immediate team was fantastic and I felt apart of something. I started and ended my career with BM during the pandemic and even though I was virtual that time I was given what was needed to succeed.

Cons

Do more with less help, do more faster and don't make mistakes, get the job done at all costs no matter what. Be aware that while it seems like the work life balance is there, it isn't. Read the fine print. I recently experienced this while giving my resignation. While a policy was in place it was not listed where it should have been and this policy is one that most of my colleagues at BM were not aware of and my professional network has been astounding by. Also experienced a situation that was unfortunate and was caused by a technology issue, upper management couldn't reprimand technology so heads had to roll. It was twisted so badly and people were blamed vs. trusting the employees and understanding that technology is also not perfect. It was a situation that truly was beyond control.
