Pros

Great benefits, good people, smart executive board, most people only work 40 hours a week, company has been around for over 100 years.

Cons

Industry is not flashy, pay is low, things are done the way they are because that's the way they've always been done - the average employee is adverse to change.

Pros

Company is open to continuing education and advancing your skill set. Very flexible when it comes to performing your job in a way that lets you be creative as long as the end result is positive. You are treated well by superiors and are not overly strict if time schedule needs to be adjusted to get better performance from a product. Company is not afraid to spend money when new tooling or supplies are needed.

Cons

Poor communication of low/middle management. Communication breakdown between departments that need to work together is common. Pre-established order of who moves up, who doesn't that is not related to performance, but to personality and image. Hands off approach of management that spurs creativity also can create laziness in some who will do minimal work.

Pros

Stable 100 year old company. Very good financial growth to the company; likelihood of being bought by a competitor extremely low; likelihood of increased business growth very good.

Cons

No opportunity for advancement at all--even when promoted, you have the same job, just different title. No communications between departments--one hand has no idea what the other is doing. No opportunity for professional development--support old products, outsource new projects.
