Pros

Location is great, still get downtown benefits but much lower cost-of-living. Organizational structure is pretty good and it's employee-owned.

Cons

Low/uncompetitive pay, sometimes can be a rumor-mill, and too much focus on brand of person (i.e. previous employer, school, geographic background) vs. actual skills possessed.

Pros

Baird has a very positive, upbeat and friendly atmosphere. The people who are there, want to be there. This is unlike many other firms where the people ended up there because their previous employer was bought out by a huge bank. Calling the home office in Milwaukee is a pleasure because you have a direct line to exactly the person you need to talk to. Not only do they answer the phone promptly, you will get a friendly helpful response. They go above and beyond expectations.

Cons

The technology is not as robust as some of the larger firms, but they are working to improve.
