Pros

A place where many of your co-workers are actually your friends. Exciting concepts being introduced and cutting edge on benefits. Good pay when you take into account the generous bonus program. Ethical senior leadership with a conservative risk management strategy. I learned so much in my discipline but also about high levels of customer service and always putting the client first.

Cons

The decision making process is consensus driven, so it can take forever to get something done. It is very relationship based, so you need to invest a significant amount of time in getting to know your people and others you will work with across all departments. Having a great idea won't stand alone unless you have everyone's support.

Pros

Almost everyone here is kind - minimal gossip & focus is on effort. Not to say there isn't politics, but despite politics the working staff is productive & generally easy to get along with.

Cons

Managers, VP's, & Directors seemed to struggle finding common ground & common direction. As a result, a lot of company effort is put into conflicting or non-congruent strategies.

Baird generally has a friendly employee base. The long tenure of some employees is both a good thing/bad thing - management is not always effective about managing out talent given nepotism remains healthy in the company head quarters.

Cons

Brand not known well outside of Milwaukee Compensation well below industry average Management tends to have a myopic view of the world given the midwestern (versus global) emphasis
