Pros

Younger people in the department are usually nice

Cons

Cliquey employees in department Pay is not competitive at all, especially until you’re promoted to an associate which depends on your sales score (stupid, and sales force is lazy) and takes at least 3 years All white males Benefits aren’t that great They don’t fire under-performers Long hours A few of the senior analysts are unethical or work their analysts to the bone but upper management looks the other way if they are tenured or bring in a lot of commissions/client engagement Poor work/life balance, good luck taking any of the “PTO” they promise in the interview when your senior analyst gets mad if you try to take one day off in 6 months

Not what you'd expect

Pros

worked with some great people

Cons

worked with some real headcases, started out with okay raises and bonuses and it slowing turned into reasons why they had to cut them, then they would start early in the year about how profits and business units were down, just to get it ingrained that raises and bonuses wouldn't be there by the end of year. They try to make you feel good about retaining your job and not being laid-off. In the meantime, other associates of a certain level were getting mid-year bonuses ~50k+ and then their end of the year raises and bonuses but lower associates were lucky to see literally a dime raise and you should be grateful.

Good old boys club & political

Pros

Many good people work here and decent benefits/salaries.

Cons

From the top it's a good old boys club. The top execs all worked together at a prior firm and they protect their own (i.e. Jim Herrick story). It's also very political, no matter the department. Everyone is trying to prove how they are better than everyone else through backstabbing and blaming of others. Maybe that's common at all companies but being a manager here is exhausting because the lower level employees are always right. Instead of actually managing, it's your job to keep everyone happy.
