Pros

Great Health Benefits, Retirement Benefits, and PTO time off.

Cons

There were none, until centralization of services meant students were no longer getting the personal attention they once got under the students first initiative. The move to no deans on campuses was also another bad move.

Pros

They employ instructors who are active in their field. Students get a real-world experience in their fields.

Cons

Mismanaged the long term goals of this organization. Invests in expensive, superficial useless improvements (like lobby waterfalls, Big Ben in the courtyard,) to properties. They created and invested in extensive expansion in Flint, where they were born. 5 years later, they decide to evacuate Flint. They close useful and needed programs, and perpetuate fiscal waste and abandoned buildings. In the midst of financial crisis, they decide to change their Logo and signage. For those in the know, this decision costs a fortune. There is ongoing waste, fiscal missed management. They abandon their heritage. They make plans to close Flint and move to Ferndale, but no one thought to determine wether there would be sufficient room for all of the cars? Please! I spent a bundle on two degree programs, and neither are now available. I taught there for 5 years in Orthotics and Prosthetics, Now closed. They will bankrupt.

Pros

Great people, Family-like place to work

Cons

Management is very far removed from workers. Trying to run campuses with a skeleton crew. The college seems less focused on students and staff, then on the mighty dollar. Significant layoffs have taken place, (probably 5 rounds this year that I know about), leaving people without the experience necessary to be successful to fill the voids created. The regents just rubber stamp everything and are useless.
