Pros

Back in the late '90s they were good and then went downhill. Once the plunge started it was quick.

Cons

Just about everything you can think of. Management-especially Vice President-a very poor excuse for a human being-is more about intimidation than anything. Lots of firing of long time employees and replacing with part-time. Recruiters are more numerous than teachers. This "college" has become a joke.

Pros

Great medical, dental, vision, and even long-term care insurance. Pension, tuition allowance, lots of paid time off and holidays. Pleasant work environment, if you're in the 'right' department.

Cons

Low pay. Raises capped at 3%. Salary freezes. Can be gossipy and catty.

Pros

NONE at all - absolutely NONE!!!!!!!!!

Cons

Employees, from staff to deans, are treated very poorly - utter disrespect daily. All campuses have been laying off employees for two straight years. They laid off people who have been there 25+ years several times this year, yet they continue to start new construction projects. Enrollment is so low they are threatening employees will lose their jobs every week. It is tiring. Everyone is walking on eggshells. Every other month they terminate so many people that it's impossible to keep track of who does what now. They eliminated nearly the entire academic dept on the Flint campus, then the entire business dept was eliminated - then in Auburn Hills, deans, faculty, and directors who served for YEARS and YEARS were fired - and then they turn around and hire young, inexperienced, recent graduates PART TIME to keep from paying decent wages or benefits. If you work here, you will be treated very poorly on a daily basis and there is a very high chance you will be fired, out of the blue, for absolutely no reason --- unless you are related to upper mgmt. Then and only then is your job safe.
