Pros

International network, and breadth of transactions you can work on based on such vast network. Exposure to negotiations around the world on important matters.

Cons

Very little control over managing hours, spreading work across associates. No COLA support. Salary/bonus transparency is very low.

Pros

Great working environment. Senior lawyers are at the top of their league. Trainees are given a lot of responsibility from day one, so the learning curve is very high. Great future prospects. If you work hard you certainly will be rewarded.

Cons

Long working hours, sometimes you may need to work at the weekends. But you are usually informed about the high expectations of the company from its employees during the job interview. One needs to plan his time carefully in order to balance the work and life, and that's not easy.
