Pros

People are great, very intelligent, hard working, and dedicated to making great products. Great to work in an environment that fosters scientific creativity.

Cons

Extremely inefficient company. Too many managers, most of whom spend their days creating unnecessary work in order to justify their jobs. Too many meetings, that involve inviting everyone!

Excellent people- all of my coworkers are talented, upstanding individuals. Ball definitely focuses on getting the "right" kind of people in the door to maintain the company culture and "family" type atmosphere. One of the few contracting companies to offer pensions.

Cons

Working as an off-site employee, as others have said, is much like being the red-headed stepchild of the Ball "family". Be prepared to feel awkward and out of place at all company-wide functions. Definitely somewhat of a "good ol' boy atmosphere", granting those with the strongest management friendships the best positions and opportunities. After working for them for 1.5 years, they still do not have a job tree for my profession- therefore no career plan. Management is so focused on expansion and gaining contracts that they forget that the employee retention should be higher on their priority list. Insurance coverage and program options have declined in the 1.5 years I've been an employee, not that they were spectacular to begin with.
