Pros

Their benefits program is good. Not very expensive. Covers quite a bit. Wellness program is easy to enlist.

Cons

Salary. Employer relations. Top heavy executive team. Out of control nepotism. Zero recognition from leadership. Degree snobs - it takes an MBA to get any position over Specialist, Assistant or Coordinator. No respect for employees. A CEO more focused on a future political career than on improving the reputation of the largest healthcare provider in the region. Bad press - because they do bad things.

Pros

Well….,,it pays the bills, so that’s a plus.

Cons

Too numerous to count. Nurses are worked to death. Not fair with regard to compensation—nurses given more money to work the big hospitals, leaving the smaller hospitals in a terrible bind re:staffing. EDs are totally unsafe. Yet, every month, there are more and more promotions on the executive side. So many directors and Vice Presidents of this, that and the other. But now, we are going to eliminate travelers. Let’s not do what can be done to alleviate the staffing issues. Ridiculous.

Pros

Talented team members Remote work schedule

Cons

The Vice President is an ineffective leader who grew into the role from marketing intern, breeds a submissive culture, and lacks the leadership skills to both build and motivate a team, and remove the marketing, communications, digital, and facility marketing siloes through integration. I have seen top talent consistently rotate in and out of the department at a high rate during my eight plus years which has created instability and resulted in several restructures. Unfortunately, this has not only created a reputation for the department but made it difficult to attract talent.
