The salary is low and it doesn’t increase much each year

Thank you for your feedback. We pride ourselves on being One Library, One Team. In 2022, we completed a compensation study and aligned salaries with similar library systems in the State of MD and overall industry standards. We traditionally receive COLA raises annually. This past year, a COLA was given in July 2023 and January 2024.
This was my first library job, and while pay at the time was low (may have grown since then) they allowed me lots of space to try all the different parts of library work, leading to me making this a long-term career.
Cons
Low pay, poor hours, and it seemed it was difficult for circulation staff to break into librarian roles even when they had obtained advanced degree.
