I had a great time

Pros

I travelled across Europe for 2.5 years without spending a single cent. Challenging high-stakes projects. Operation teams was close-knit, great people Project management proactive and working hand-in-hand with commissioning Despite its high commissioning complexity, the solution is probably the most flexible on the market. Never had any issue with work-life balance but also I had no life back then, which made it very easy to balance with work

Cons

Salary is very low (35k€ gross in 2020), only way to make a decent living is to stay on site 100%, it adds ~12-13k€ gross per year No idea why they stick with their homemade programming language, literally no benefits R&D management completely disconnected from on-site reality, regularly dismissed operational feedback and preferred to focus on useless trendy features (cloud, UX, etc.) Focus on selling projects without necessarily accounting for feasibility, which leads to some projects being still open after 3+ years Very dysfunctional software release process, probably due to the CTO's decisions from 15 years ago Weird secrecy surrounding the localisation algorithm, like it's not one of the worst performing SLAM algorithm I've ever seen Back then they had 6 C-Level positions, nonsense when you're not making a profit (CXO, what does that even mean). Cut the top management and pay your operations team better

Fantastic first experience

Pros

The company recruits graduates and takes the time to train them. The level of responsibility that is entrusted to young people, the realization of projects worth more than a million euros, is crazy, and if you are not afraid of the challenge, it is an incredible experience. The product is just cool: you can develop code AND drive 10 ton forklifts in the same day. Very good atmosphere in the Paris offices!

Cons

The technology, a little outdated, and the R&D which has been exhausted to settle the technical debt for years. Endless projects because customer expectations are poorly defined and poorly framed. The company never made a profit, the IPO turned out to be disastrous, and all of this is reflected in the salaries and benefits of the employees, both of which are a little thin.
