Pros

401k match was ok.

Cons

Bamboo’s Glassdoor rating is far from accurate. When I was hired, during my onboarding meetings, I was specifically told “If you have a bad experience, do NOT leave a negative review on Glassdoor.” One of the things I was most excited about in how bamboo would talk about their culture was that it was “a good place to make a mistake” and that everyone makes mistakes and that they were always going to “assume the best” and help members of the team get better. I experienced the exact opposite. I made one small (easily fixable) mistake in my first week early into a project and was told that if I continued to make mistakes like that I would be fired. It was unforgivable. From then on it only got worse. They’ll even show you a culture video in onboarding if how someone once made a big mistake, but was supported and encouraged through it. I was simply told to start looking for a job. I regret not asking about my position’s turnover rate before I was hired. If I would’ve known that the last two people before me also only lasted 2-3 months (one quit and the other was fired for “making mistakes”), I would’ve passed on this job.

Hi there! We’re sorry to hear that this was your experience. We do care about the validity of the reviews on our Glassdoor page and we are particularly careful to ensure that each of the reviews are organic, honest, and anonymous. We certainly encourage employees to leave reviews on Glassdoor, and in doing so, we also encourage everyone to be real about what they’re experiencing. One of our values here at BambooHR is Be Open. Something that we encourage continually, and especially throughout on-boarding, is the importance of being open in other avenues, beyond Glassdoor, that can facilitate change rather than staying quiet. This might mean talking to your manager, or talking to HR, or talking to a department head. Whichever it is, our goal is to create a safe environment where crucial conversations can take place so that when challenges arise, we can talk about them and fix them instead of leaving them in silent frustration. During onboarding, we actually teach a class on crucial conversations and how to communicate effectively. Secondly, it’s important to us that when mistakes are made we learn from them. That’s a core part of our value of Grow from Good to Great. We want individuals and teams to take ownership when mistakes happen. From there we share, learn, and grow together. This is how we better serve and meet the needs of our clients, by always getting better at what we do. We appreciate your feedback to continually watch turnover. Though retention hasn’t been an issue for us, this is something we’re always watching and will continue to do so moving forward. We absolutely recognize that this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. We encourage hard conversations, being open, and assuming the best. Though it can be challenging, it also has helped each of us grow immensely. We are very open about the type of environment you’ll find here throughout the recruiting process - strengths, challenges, etc. We would never want to put someone in a situation where they wouldn’t thrive. We’re sorry to hear this job wasn’t a good fit for you and wish you success in your career aspirations.

Pros

Let me start off by saying no company is 100 percent perfect... I've worked in sales for a number of years and definitely know that. With that said, I would finish my selling career here. I honestly don't know why others leave comments saying that management doesn't have our best interest in place... We all just got significant raises in base that makes us highly competitive pay wise... That comment about an executive couldn't be more of a joke. Happenstance that executives knew me by name on my second day? Don't think so! Not to mention the fact that we're making changes that massive inside sales companies have made TO SELL MORE. There's always going to be those lazier people that are always upset about change... If you work hard, it shows here. Very satisfied with what I've been able to produce. Company outlook looks phenomenal, unfortunately there's a lot of current positivities that are happening here and I obviously can't share them (oh yeah the company is completely transparent (how I know things as an AE)). You'll eventually see on the news 😂. Big things happening. All in all, the culture speaks for itself. If I want to have a discussion with one of the founders, it's done. They've dropped everything they're doing to have a far less important conversation with me. My manager has turned into a good friend and is always a resource and never mircromanaging or a burden. I'm learning a ton and look forward to all the learning here. They're highly selective with who they hire and it shows. Phenomenal individuals, I know I've already established life long friends with the people that I'm working with. It honestly doesn't feel like work sometimes. It helps that I like a grind but still, I've gotten tired of a lot of sales positions on the past. If you're thinking about applying here, do it. See for yourself. You don't have anything to lose other than signing on with the top company to work for in Utah. 😂 Guarantee you'll be greeted by a ton of friendly faces that are more than willing to help you out (and trust me, we haven't been told to do so). No I'm not in management, no I wasn't told to write this, but yes I'm a massive fan of BambooHR. Very little compares to it and consider myself so lucky to work here.

Cons

Usual growing pains of any quickly progressing SAAS company? It'll happen at any good company you go to though... I've seen some electronically raising and lowering desks, maybe give those out to everyone in the new building?

Pros

They are friendly-ish during training.

Cons

No diversity, unusually low pay for this position in the tech industry, micro-management styles, little to no direction about benefits from HR, training is very confusing and disorganized and the culture is full of toxic positivity.
