Pros

Banner Health has 23 Hospitals and over 35,000 employees in seven states. Banner Health's focus is on quality care that is fiscally responsible. Patient and staff satisfaction scores are high and trending upward. The pay for Nurses in AZ is almost double what Nurses make in NC. Banner University Medical Center - Phoenix is the Flagship Hospital of the System and it is a Magnet and a Teaching Hospital so you get the feeling of cutting edge education, technology and support. BUMC-P (The former Banner Good Samaritan) Behavioral Health has supportive management. The staff has decades of experience. Physicians, managers, the RN's and BHT's are willing to share their knowledge and experience with colleagues and patients. Overall, this is a great place to work.

Cons

Traffic into downtown Phoenix (BUMC-P) is horrible and unpredictable. Traffic flow moves well around the campus, though. The aesthetics of most of the hospital common areas are very dated and not family friendly. Cleanliness, paint, flooring and pharmacy service could all be improved.

Pros

Benefits and pay are what keep me here I can see myself retiring with this company. Though the job is stressful as a team we try and boost each other's spirits.

Cons

Power struggles, female drama, politics. Company itself is great but sometimes people who have been here past a year feel automatically entitled whether they're in positions of power or not.

Pros

Like the people, many locations for transferring, good mission and company objectives. Hospital side is well organized, shared leadership for staff to be involved.

Cons

banner medical group (outpatient clinics) is poorly organized and grew too quickly without proper organizational structure in place. Minimal nursing leadership structure on BMG side and limited opportunities to voice opinion. Too much focused on money and meeting metrics. Way too much turnover and no emphasis on retention. Company won't look into government school loan reimbursement even though several areas qualify. No bonuses for NPs but management and physicians get bonuses.
