Pros

The cytology department is great. Everyone is easy to get along with, works hard and pitches in to get the job done efficiently and effectively. As a cytotech you have a great deal of responsibility to give adequacies in many departments throughout the hospital. There is a lot of interaction with pathologist and other physicians.

Cons

Ugly scrubs are being forced upon us and a new less family friendly time keeping system has recently been installed.

Pros

Positive atmosphere. They seem to value you as a person. They don't seem to discriminate against anyone for any reason.

Cons

Amount of work- low pay. There is so much work all of the time. They are growing so fast and keeping up with high salaried jobs. Low pay and higher cost of health benefits.

Pros

I worked for Banner Health for two years. There is room for growth if that is your goal. In my particular career path there are openings for promotions on a regular basis. Promotions were earned rather than given. Banner Health affords employees many options with regards to career path. Occasionally jobs are eliminated, but Banner Health does everything they can to find the employees new roles within the organization.

Cons

Banner pay and benefits are not consistent with the level of performance that is expected of employees. Evaluations are designed to keep employees from receiving the maximum possible merit increases. Tuition reimbursement is available, but only for nurses or upper management. The job expectations were outrageous. As soon as we hit a target metric, we were told that we were overstaffed and would need to eliminated two positions by attrition.
