Pros

The benefits are pretty solid. There is plenty of opportunity for growth or to change setting such as from home health to outpatient since Banner is a huge corporation. SOME of my coworkers were great.

Cons

The Banner Home Health Management team is terrible. Due to this issue employee turnover in the Home Health dept is high. Some of my other coworkers were not so great. They (other PT's) didnt like having to use PTA's and made it overbundently clear by verbalizing it to the whole staff during our bimonthly staff mtg. This made it very difficult to work with some of those PT's, Although my PTO accrued at a rate of 7.13 per 2 week pay period, I was never really able to accrue any real amount during the time I worked there. This is because they pay you hourly and if if you are short of obtaining 40 hrs per week they make up the difference by taking it from your PTO. So what ultimately results is you work there for months but dont have the ability to take a vacation. I have talked to many other individuals that have worked for Banner in different locations and in different positions and this seems to be a common complaint across the company. Id say it was about a 60/40 percentage split (60% complaining about the inability to accrue PTO) of all the Banner employees I have spoken with.

Pros

Great physicians and floor staff , opportunities for growth, decent pay

Cons

Upper management metrics kill employees and risk patient safety to meet certain time constraints they have created to make them the most money possible. ER significantly understaffed, overwhelmed, and unsafe patient ratios. Opportunities for growth because the turnover is so significant. Management shoving patient satisfaction scores in nurses faces telling us we need to change our attitudes; yet management does nothing to make their nurses happy.
