Pros

Absolutely no pros to this job . Overworked under paid .

Cons

Terrible customer service , no communication between groomers and management. Only hire manager outside of company with no grooming or pet care experience. Constantly messing up scheduling , not responding to clients up customer price by 25% doodles are being charged $400 while groomers makes 20 a hour with no other way to make more aside from tips that drastically drop since price increases

Pros

I worked at the Woodland Hills hub long before our current manager joined Barkbus, and I can confidently say that every day before they arrived was challenging. However, our manager showed up for us every single day. She was one of the best to ever do it. While she couldn’t change everything the company implemented, she always did her best to support us—and that’s the reason so many of us stayed for as long as we did. Barkbus is the best place for a groomer to work. It’s not perfect—there are van issues, scheduling challenges, and long drive times—but there’s still no better place to groom. I wasn’t a fan of the changes to the rebooking structure or the long turnaround times for van maintenance, but I always believed that we were valued. The reality is, 90% of the team wouldn’t have stayed if it weren’t for our incredible manager, who fought for us every day. We were celebrated for our differences. We were recognized for our hard work. We were never overlooked. Even when things went sideways, our manager showed up for us. I know of two employees who wanted to quit until they found out they could work for the manager in Woodland Hills—and they stayed with the company! Beyond the work, we had great parties, amazing team outings, and the flexibility that made a real difference in our lives. I hope anyone interested in Barkbus gets the opportunity to experience working with such an amazing team. I would still be with the company if I didn’t move to another state.

Cons

van maintenance, scheduling and routing
