Commute to work site, work conditions can be extreme with the weather at the Barrick locations.

The pay is good, the benefits are decent. If you're Canadian, the growth potential appears limitless.

Cons

The mining culture and the Canadian culture are not always in sync. What works in Canada does not always work in other locations around the globe.

Pros

There is not much good you can say about the company, only High pay, and travel allowance.

Cons

Top Heavy. Pointless managerial positions. Continuously hiring new people, when there is no work to be done. lots of expat staff on high wages doing hardly any work. Conflict of interests of previous owners, Equinox and former Equinox staff. Health and safety is preached, but never carried out as production comes first. The right things are said in head office, but it never percolates down. Not what you know, who you know promotion system.
