Wake up and realize there are major problems.

Pros

Very good benefits, time off policies and the staff were hard working, dedicated and great to work with. Generally the facilities were modern and in good condition.

Cons

Where do I start...Senior management are mostly incompetent. Hello, get a clue when great people are leaving right and left there definitely is a problem. But instead of addressing it, they would generally bad mouth the people that left. Let's not talk about how there were no pay raises for 3 years, and yet they would spend money like they were drunken sailors. Buying something new even though they already had the same thing but it was a year or two old.

Pros

Nice campus and small. Opportunity to get to know everyone, even though you won't want to!

Cons

Hostile environment, lack of cooperation between divisions, always seeking to pursue personal agenda. Career growth and personal growth is very minimal and there is no unifying sense of community or teamwork.

Pros

- I've learned how not to run a business. - I've learned that if possible, its best to suss out an individual's security with him or herself and also their level of intelligence before you hire or work with said individual.

Cons

- If someone feels threatened by you, your chances of advancement are nonexistent and you better find armor for your back because the knife is coming sooner rather than later. - The corporate culture is one that looks down upon part time employees, treats them as spare, unimportant parts. - An inept senior management incapable of dealing with a shifting educational landscape, including a continuous decline in student enrollment and retention. Thus, there are major cutbacks, restructuring, no raises in years, and job cuts.
