Pros

decent health benefits and great PTO lovely campus although not a great neighborhood emphasis on diversity

Cons

raises scarce to non-existent; politics interferes with getting work done; annual budgets are shaky--too dependent upon enrollment much nepotism, hires are generally related to other employees on campus

Pros

The values, culture, the real hard working employees at the grassroots level are wonderful. Vacation time and work/life balance are wonderful as long as you are in a job where you are not overworked or are given comp time for projects that require hours above and beyond what is considered an exempt position. Family friendly (at least when I was there).

Cons

Tons of committees that are made up of representatives of the schools - too large to accomplish anything with usually 4 people that do all the work while the rest rant their opinion. Way too many consultants. Health Insurance was extremely expensive. There was a move towards improvement, but then Sr. Jeanne left and new leadership took over. Whereas, Sr. Jeanne was able to realize and reconcile wrong decisions, the new leadership came in with a palpable taste for nepotism and chastising. Many hard working and well respected employees left while many employees with no experience were put into leadership positions. I can't tell you how many people told me to jump ship before it sank. It is sad because although demanding prior to the administrative change, you still felt appreciated, respected and treated like an adult.
