Pros

It's impossible to think of 20 words to describe pros. I will just use this space to say there are a lot more cons. I just quit because I couldn't stand the way upper management took credit for my work.

Cons

How many VPs, Senior VPs and pseudo-executives can one company have?? So top heavy it's disgusting. They treat their employees like crap. Enough said.

Pros

Company vehicle, well at least until they took it away. They did provide a monthly vehicle allowance, though.

Cons

Where does one start? From the day I was hired I was given no guidance, direction, orientation, or training. I was sent to a job in Texas and just dumped. Had to deal with a couple of third party safety clowns who made a total mess of things, which demoralized the Barton Malow workers and made my job even more difficult. I should have pulled the plug on this place at that moment. The project management team did nothing to encourage, but, rather, maintained a fiefdom that played against corporate back in Michigan. After two months I was transferred to a job in Indiana, which lasted for 1 1/2 years, but it was so disorganized and the mid-level leadership was mainly millennials, who made it into a frat house. This company is so top-heavy with VPs out the ying-yang and Barton Malow could save a pile of jing dumping half of them. When I got a call from some mid-level safety hack telling me that some VP heard a rumor about my complaining about per diem and that this needed to be addressed I realized that some VP had way too much time on his hands to deal with BS like this. Now they've restructured and they've added more layers of bureaucracy that the whole company will eventually capsize. I was supposedly "laid off" however the rhetoric of the severance agreement was more indicative of termination with phrases prohibiting speaking derogatorily about the company. Good riddance.

Pros

BM is great when it comes to paying their people, but the amount of work they expect you to do is outrageous. They understaff management teams and overwork the hell out of you. If you don't care anything about the money, this company is for you. If you have a family, it's not the greatest.

Cons

Same as above, long hours, management has their hand in the pot stirring(seems like they don't really work) they expect you to stay till 7 even if you don't have anything to do. Poor training program.
