Pros

- Work with very talented and super creative designers with a lot of patience and tough skin... inspiring to be around people like this every day. - Casual work environment

Cons

- the approval process and high level meeting schedule is BEYOND dysfunctional... making everyone spin in circles, but get no where. - super stressful environment and competitive by nature - no upper management support AT ALL - no growth; promotions are far and few between - very few paid holidays off - minimal vacation days - travel is necessary to Ohio

Pros

Wonderful environment. Personally , my store management team are so down to earth and actually care for everyone who works there (those who are actually willing to work anyone). It's just when you get up to the DM level when things get a little tricky. The gratis are pretty cool , best around the holiday, range from a pocketbac and a mini to a whole candle and body cream. Hours are pretty decent but the pay is great (for retail yes, for job duties no)

Cons

Personally , I'm only a sales associate. But I work my BUTT OFF. A lot of the time doing and being aware of things that my ASM , SM and Supervisors should be doing. It baffles me. I do anything from regular ringing and selling to stock room things , marketing arrangement and placement , typically in charge of changes and Im always called to come and move a cabinet or build a table or something ridiculous (while still being expected to sell and maintain a good enough spah) Speaking of spah, the most annoying thing I have ever come across. This is basically what determines who gets the most hours. They have top sellers (those who on average sell the most by the hour) and then management (who are expected to do the same). Don't get me wrong , I understand that a business is a business and money is very important to run said business , but there's the operations side to that which is just as important. I always think of how bad my store would do if it were just run by the top sellers. Because they do sell but have no clue how to fix a messy return issue , build a table or follow a cabinet to magazine and even struggle to find necessary product in the back room. And marketing ? Oh please that's like a foreign land for them.
