Pros

Good seasonal job and great for gaining experience in retail and sales and some great people to work with.

Cons

Very few hours, 1 or 2 rude co-workers, and the lack of communication was a problem; after almost a month of absolutely no contact on their part I finally received an email formally excusing me from my position.

Pros

-Customers! I loved my customers; I had my regular shoppers who would shop frequently and only ask for my assistance and I had customers who would simply visit to check up on me and buy me lunch. They were the absolute sweetest! -Co-workers. After working many hours with your co-workers, you will become friends with them. -Employee gratis! Each month, per new product arrival, you receive free products courtesy to the company. -Transportation. If your co-workers and managers are like mine, on days that you have no transportation home they will offer to take you home. -Uniform. You get to feel comfortable wearing jeans and a white top daily.

Cons

-SPAH! This creates competitiveness and lack of trust. Associates steal each other sales; managers steal associates sales by telling associates to stay productive on sales floor while they (managers) remain on cashier closing the sales; managers tell associates to go to break early to have the sales floor and cashier to themselves; etc. -Favoritism. If a manager notices a certain employee exceeding in sales, the managers will favorite them. Or, if a manager is more close to a selected group then the manager will favorite them more. -Gossip. Make sure you don't mix business with personal, or else your personal business will be spread around. -Unlikely to rise in company. One of the sales lead, who I worked with, would complain about how difficult it was to rise within the company. She's been a sales lead for 4 years and wanted to be a manager. And, my manager was a manager for 16 years and stated how rare it is for people to rise within the company. -Hours. One week your paycheck will be great, and the following week it will be poor. -Hours and SPAH. The number of hours you get depends on your SPAH count and number of sales. -Floorset. I loved sales but not floorset. I worked for the company for 1 year and only did floorset 3 times. It's tiring and you don't leave home until 2am, sometimes even later. -TOO MANY EXPECTATIONS FROM COMPANY WHEN THEY'RE ONLY PAYING YOU LOW AMOUNT!

Pros

Loyal culture of competitive retail leaders. Great place to learn how to balance talent, visual merchandising and business acumen to drive sales.

Cons

Competitive to an unhealthy extent. Forced to make decisions around driving a lean and frugal market at the expense of talent. Can be predictably cyclical and boring.
