Pros

There are no pros left at this toxic place unless you are a white male. Look at the executives, the chiefs and vice presidents. There are two women in a sea of old, white men.

Cons

This place is Toxic with a capital T. The executives all believe everyone is incompetent. They have no sense of strategy and chase projects like a cat chasing a mouse. They have 20 number 1 priorities. They expect long hours for a joke of a wage. There are NO promotions, except imaginary ones dangled in your face. Mid managers are a joke. They steal credit of work done, don’t actually manager anything. There is NO training, so you better be able to figure it out. Management knows it is toxic and excepts an ice cream truck will fix it. HR is aware of problem employees but won’t actually do anything about the problems.

Pros

A lot of really cool talented people used to work here before they laid them all off.

Cons

Great place to work if you want to give yourself some unhealthy coping mechanisms and have every job after this one be an absolute cakewalk. Every company and job has their pluses and minuses, but ironically enough there are no “pluses” at Batteries Plus anymore. I would strongly encourage everyone to avoid this company until at a minimum there is a complete leadership turnover. Leadership Team: Overblown. Self important. Boy’s Club. No one on the executive team will even make eye contact with you in the hallway let alone say hello. You’re lucky if they will hold the door for you when you’re walking right behind them into the office in the morning. Every big project has a military-esque name like “Project XXX” that makes zero sense to anyone working on these initiatives and is done simply so these G.I. Joe wannabes can pretend from 9-5 to be men of character. Support from leadership with a director/VP title or higher is nonexistent. You can easily email and follow up for 6 months without getting a response from anyone with a director or above title. Love blowing smoke. Will tell you how great you are and how we need more people like you and then pay you below the industry average and understaff your team. HR: Disappointing. Useless. Fake. Take the online accolades with a grain of salt. They’re self promoted or paid anyway....My exit interview was a joke with the “Corporate HR Manager”. He was not prepared for feedback of any kind and only had a print out of their default exit interview questions. He feverishly scribbled illegible phrases of my feedback and captured close to none of it, it was unprofessional and really embarrassing to witness. Marketing: “Champions for Their Team” = Champions for Themselves They literally walked out everyone left that was worth working with in this department. Marketing leadership only cares about taking care of themselves and will not fight for the compensation, recognition or reasonable workloads their teams deserve. You’re seriously better off bagging groceries at your local grocery store than taking a job here.

Pros

Great employees and teams, good benefits

Cons

Poor leadership, c-suite doesn't listen to the workers or provide direction. Poor work/life balance.
