Pros

Compensation and benefits. Casual attire acceptable. Work from home days. You can eat at your desk, but you HAVE to eat at your desk, because you need to work through your lunch in order to meet metrics.

Cons

Everything else. Toxic management. Management is retaliatory. Management plays favorites. Micromanagement is the standard. Too many people in management positions that don’t deserve to be there. Management is clueless. Management thinks a monkey can do your job. Unrealistic metrics. No work life balance. Cafeteria food: you are going to pay airport prices. Temperature issues (the company can’t keep the room temperature regulated; you’ll need a parka coat and a desk fan). Strange odors constantly emitted from HVAC system; prepare to have daily headaches.

No Loyalty!

Pros

People that actually do the work there are hardworking and dedicated.

Cons

Very political. People seem friendly, but some will stab you in the back if it means they can get ahead. Management shows no loyalty to employees. I worked there for 11 years, thought I was doing great, accomplished many things. But bosses changed and one new boss either didn't like me, or was instructed to cut long time, older employees. I didn't change, my work ethic didn't change, my skills and aptitudes didn't change. My wife, a professional with many years of experience, was also let go. If you're pushing 60, don't expect to be hired, or if you are, to be there long.

Pros

Great benefits, good pay, and plenty of opportunities to get OT if desired. You also are saving lives.

Cons

A lot of veterans have left or been forced to leave for many reasons, that could’ve helped with your knowledge and training in your department. Tendency to carry an racial undertone among employees, home/work life balance is horrible, no respect for having ambition, potentially stuck on an off shift for years
