Pros

Travel opportunities are incredible if the division has US/global merged. The people (most) are amazing to work with - made some lifelong friends.

Cons

Underpaid. Role/salary was downgraded before I was hired so that the manager could get 2 headcount (found out after I was hired). Not much room for growth unless you jump to a different division. Responsibilities grew, but title and salary didn't. Advocated for myself for growth opportunities, but manager did not know how progress it, but continued to add to workload. Work/life balance dwindled quickly. Senior leadership unaware of what 'ground-level' employees do and their impact to daily operations when gone. Baxter used to be such a wonderful place to work, but in the past couple years, it has gone downhill quickly.

High turnover, politics

Business Outlook

Pros

Good pay, bonuses, stocks are all at or above market average. Plant leadership is good to above average in some cases

Cons

Highly political environment, somewhat antiquated systems. Back stabbing amongst finance teams and some (not all) leadership, who do not fully understand all functions and their intended roles within the company. Some leader make decisions without all the facts, or who will lie outright about situations to fulfill their political agenda. High turnover due to lack of consistency in leadership, and leadership not fully understanding situations before making important decisions. Senior leader turnover is a real issue. Met or exceeded goals and not rewarded for effort

Good people in a tough spot

Pros

A lot of good people who are trying their best to stay sane and many pleasant to work with despite difficult conditions. It is highly dependent upon what position you are in for what your experience will be as well as what your end of year bonuses will be like.

Cons

Upper level management in a tailspin for what to do and what direction to go in. They seem to get lost in the product offering as does everyone. Some projects seem to be forgotten. They will simultaneously push for speed knowing this can and will impact quality. The company is stuck in a hardware based mindset but trying to shift gears into software. This affords a lot of difficulties especially when inflexible and onerous quality procedures attempt to mesh with digital software which requires quick response and adaptation to constantly changing market. Horrific siloing keeps teams from communicating basic things to each other like updates to software/hardware that will break compatibility with other products down the line.
