Pros

my first manager was fine. some co-workers okay. loyal customers that you build relationships with very pleasant.

Cons

ALL upper management does not care about you and they WILL throw you under the bus everytime they need to make themselves look like SAINTS in front of THEIR BOSSES. especially the district managers and regionals. There is not anything set in stone at this company, you will be tossed around and confused for atleast the first 3 yrs of employment. Hours are horrible, there is no drug testing so you have to deal with people who are using I experienced this many many many times through out my employment. no room for advancement because the company is downsizing the staff, but expanding the number of stores. the customers always complain about the out-dated policies and obsolete ways of running a business.serious upgrades needed to satisfy customers and raise productivity levels for the staff without making them slave. if you work for bealls outlet as an associate, super, or manager you will have every job title under the sun at the store, maintance, register, cleaning, markdowns, your own department, unloading trucks, etc etc etc the stores employees are put through too much no one is designated to a couple of specific task everyone does everything but you only get paid for the job you applied for not all the other jobs you end up doing.

Pros

- The People - Pay is really not THAT bad + annual bonuses (lower than some companies but still something) - Double discount days - Flexible hours

Cons

- Toxic work environment fostered by the below: - Unrealistic expectations - Limited resources for help but still expected to work like you have everything you need and have a smile on your face - You cannot have work/life balance and succeed here - No clear Direction from Sr level Management (OR constantly changing direction confusing both employees and outside partners) - Company constantly makes the same mistakes year after year only to blame its employees for the results - No accountability from Sr. level management - Onboarding process is inconsistent. Sometimes they train new employees, sometimes not - Lack of communication - Gross favoritism/ office politics (Not in a normal expected way like every corporate job in America.) - Terrible Maternity Leave Plan - Old systems - Constant report issues make it hard to do our jobs - No room for differentiating opinions
