Management Will Belittle You

Pros

They pay a good, market rate.

Cons

When put under stress, management at Beazer Homes will resort to belittling people indiscriminately. Apparently it's this way at all levels, in all departments, and this has just always been so. It's part of Beazer's organizational DNA, I guess. Some people deal with this better than others. In my better moments, I feel sorry for the people dishing out the abuse. Belittling people is really just a crutch that incompetent, stressed-out managers lean on. If you can handle it for a while, you'll make some money and learn some things. Ultimately, though, if you're a thinking, feeling human being with any sort of a craft or talent, and you don't enjoy being the punchline of a bad Dilbert cartoon, you'll find greener pastures. I did.

Pros

Challenging, rewarding and fun. Beazer-Dallas has a great team. Beazer's product is on average at the median price point in DFW, which is a strong position. The process for customers is clearly laid out, simple and easy. Choice plan options give customers no cost structural options in most plans. The mortgage choices program means that the customers have multiple third party lenders from which to choose. Overall, Beazer is a positive atmosphere in which a sales counselor can thrive.

Cons

Some of the bureaucracy that comes along with working for a top ten national home builder. However, the checks and balances/accountability in place have their benefits.
