Pros

Marketing-Specific: - Really great team (personalities and talent) of the department members below leadership - a lot of different work to do (experience to gain) - strong salary Overall Company: - Strong benefits, company that cares a lot about its employees - a lot of great colleagues across departments to work with

Cons

MARKETING-specific (my thoughts and shared by numerous colleagues at Beazley with me): - marketing leadership leads/enables endless and unnecessary fire drills for their team to deal with - leadership out of touch or doesn’t seem to care about marketing team burnout and overloaded plates - some of leadership under-qualified for their positions, focus way too much on the wrong things - poor communication to team from leadership about priorities, even which new hires do what - director in US will snap at his team members when they ask relevant questions about strategy, project related that he should have answers to and at least be able to speak professionally about. Overall Company - seemingly very big meetings/overtime expectation across depts - US health insurance not great/ not accepted by some of my providers

Not the same as it used to be

Pros

The Claims team is very well run and has great leadership. It's the only team within the company that I'd recommend working for at the present time.

Cons

Not only is the old Beazley culture long gone, there is an atmosphere of inferior management, inept employees, and poor performance across nearly the entire organization. When 80% of Operations leadership and 100% of rhe Risk Management team, along with numerous other key individuals leave the company in the span of less than one year, it's got to tell you something. It's not strategic, it's not intentional change or "transformation", it's just the result of people being fed up with a series of questionable hiring decisions at the senior management level. The majority of senior management are crippled with pervasive indecision and a chronic inability to deliver on strategic objectives. HR at Beazley is also terrible. Maybe instead of constantly changing their team name, they should instead focus on doing their jobs and acting in the company's best interest. All they seem to do is shelter the poor performers. The company didn't need a new logo...they need a new management team.

Toxic Corporate Culture

Pros

Little productivity expectations and no accountability.

Cons

All the productive, hard working people have been pushed out by back-stabbing, hand waiving people who think their word salad of cliches is impressing anyone. Morale is rock bottom and there is significant turnover in claims as it is becoming very clear that management has no actual plan other than to backstab internal rivals. Managers stalk your calendar to see who you have coffee, beer, lunch, or a call with because they are paranoid that the "narrative" (lies) they have been telling will come out. Managers spend more time scheming and backstabbing than doing productive work.
