Pros

Bechtel has amazing benefits in terms of insurance and other health benefits. They really take care of you well with compensation and overtime pay. Also, the ability to travel internationally is a pretty huge incentive if you are into that sort of stuff. It seems that Bechtel is pretty open with its employees and even has a "stretching" time in the early morning.

Cons

The hours worked at Bechtel are awful, but you will get used to them. You work everyday from 7:30-5:30, but you get every other Friday off, which is pretty nice. Also, there's a very "old" culture at Bechtel. A lot of the engineers and management are in their 50s, and then they try to get new hires in their 20s to off-set it.

large company with good benefits and average compensation. Work environment varies upon work location although generally speaking people is really nice.

like other large companies opportunities to grow are scarce and depend upon your networking abilities

Pros

Bechtel is a big company with sound finance. The pay is good and the benefits package is great. It allows people to take flexible working schedule, such as 4/10 working week and 9/80 etc. Bechtel pays a lot of attention to working place safety and provides incentives for people doing that.

Cons

Bechtel is a company-company, and is not very people friendly. The old-hands of Bechtel have a lot of advantages over new comers. Although it's good for Bechtel management to pay a lot of attention to working place safety, requiring a safety topic before every meeting looks funny to me as we were doing office work and there were not so many safety issues.
