Management is click'ish.
Upper management plays into the "good ol boys club." Manufacturing VP takes care of Plant Managers by paying them very well, protecting poor performers,
Management can be disrespectful to employees and when you defend your self with a simply and appropriate response you are labeled a trouble maker. At that point management starts to make things difficult and pushes employees out.
Max 3% pay increase for excellent performers.
Every year VPs go around to each facility, doing a dog and pony show asking employees, "what can we do different!? what can we change? How can we improve as a team?" Great suggestions come from employees but rarely does change come. I do however appreciate the 2 hr break from work for the meeting.
In a nut shell, most of the manufacturing management team including Plant Managers have little to zero people skills. Management walks around with scrapers acting as if they help clean but it's just for show. We keep our facility clean. We make paint day in and day out. We work the OT. To get the job done and meet the expectations of HD.
Bet management would change if there was another Union drive.
