Pros

Highest paying retail job. Paid time off, with a catch. Paid sick leave, with a catch. Most of our ASM's (area sales manager) are understanding and educated about their jobs.

Cons

Your pay can be cut if you do not make your sales goal, even if you're a penny short. Paid time off is treated like you are still on the clock, you're averaging $0 sales days. Paid sick leave is treated like you are still on the clock, you're averaging $0 sales days. Some ASM's are under trained and educated about their jobs. Too many responsibilities placed on ASMs, they are run ragged. Sales associates are expected to get 1 credit card application for every 20 hours worked, this can be hard at times. Sales associates have way too many responsibilities, cleaning, stock, merchandising, inventory. All above responsibilities have to be completed by sales staff and hours worked count towards your sales goal, even though you are helping the store, you're averaging $0 a hour (risk of pay cut) Example: our store is in remodel right now, sales staff is asked to come in before store opens to help, but we are still placed on "selling hours," and run the risk of loosing our pay rate. Horrible lack of communication. Sometimes, horrible lack of training on all levels. Horrible lack of organization.

Pros

It's a job. If I could find something else with the same pay or more pay, I would leave.

Cons

Too much pressure to open credit cards. They don't care how you get them. They process applications that have been declined over and over again. Literally making that person's credit worse than it is. The people who get the most credits get away with coming in late and doing whatever they want at work. If you haven't met your goal, you are pretty much mud on their feet. There is definitely favoritism in the store. They pretty much get to make their own schedule.
