Credit Is King

Pros

Higher pay than majority of retail/sales in the area. Credit spiff and associate discount + double discount weekends. Good co-workers and decent benefits

Cons

Debilitatingly long hours on your feet. Strong pressure to reach performance standards while severely understaffed. Spiteful and unprofessional management. Lack of proper training. Very outdated pos machines, racks and equipment that makes everything we do, go by 100X slower. Harassing customers for a credit card/app download/their email is not only draining but repellent. It feels like every man for himself most days, and that really hurts team morale. Some employees are credit champions and so they don’t do anything else, offloading all other responsibilities to everyone else. Some are even disrespectful and aggressive- but management won’t let them go because credit is king. Everybody who works at our store is taking some kind of vitamin, supplement, prescription antidepressant or chain smoking just to get through the day. Do not recommend full-time under these conditions. Mostly recommend part time.

Pros

Good people enslaved my the open up a credit or die mentality. MGT was really good and made it work without much.

Cons

he AP office is outdated — moldy, aging systems, and leadership obsessed with audits and internal checks. The real issue? Low wages. When you underpay people, you create desperation and invite shady behavior. But here’s the question — is it really worth taking out a hardworking woman just for handing out too many samples? There’s too much focus on “look at what we do,” and not enough on “let’s pay people what they’re worth.” A livable wage solves more problems than another round of internal audits ever will.
