Pros

Brokers were enjoyable to work with. New ideas to bring to the kitchen at home. Private company with profit sharing plan

Cons

If a customer does not pay their bill the rep is responsible. Corporate has the wrong people running the Houston branch. Constantly told not to sell and do my job but my pay is based off of how much you sell. Management is constantly contradicting what they say and are very deceptive to customers.

Pros

Family Owned, Texas Based Company, with a certain amount of freedom to develop your own territory and customer base. They have a vast selection of products to offer. Competitive pay and great benefits. Quality produce.

Cons

They are stuck in the shadow of Sysco. You will work 7 days a week and many nights. A CRONIC Lack of support from transportation and routing. The pricing on several key segments centered on Tex Mex and similar restaurant models makes it impossible to stay competitive on rice, beans, and cheese. If you are on the "good Side" of management. Then the goals set by management are far more attainable and you will be handed a lot of existing clients and leads.

Pros

There’s always food. Dress code is relaxed.

Cons

Sick pay is 60%. People come to work sick all the time. If you’re lucky to even have it, you are expected to use PTO if you don’t feel comfortable driving to work when there is ice on the roads. But if you are favored, they’ll give you a laptop to work from home whenever you want. PTO can only be used in 4 hour increments. You can’t make up your time by staying late or working through lunch for appointments, you have to use up all of your sick time before they’ll allow it. Managers are not leaders and tell you to do tasks without explaining how and they are hardly ever available for questions or working from home.
