Pros

This is a diverse workplace. One can get to know interesting people from all over the world and build meaningful relationships. As an educational publishing company, literacy and equality are big parts of the company culture by nature. LGBTQ rights are highly recognized and respected here. There are company events at least once every month to bring people together and this tradition has been maintained during COVID-19. There used to be company sponsored lunch once every month, soccer and volleyball games sponsored by the company pre COVID-19. There is an annual talent show where employees volunteer to go on stage and perform music, dances, poetry reading, etc. Management let employees to opt to work from home at the very beginning of the pandemic this year, when no one had a clue of how bad it would be. It was a brave and responsible move, and by doing this the company shows it's putting employees' health as its priority. The founders of the company care about their employees by heart, are passionate about the company's mission, and aim to build a family like working environment. The company has also generously sponsored many international employees.

Cons

The company is still scaling and in transition as it grows, oversight from management is inevitable under high pressuring situations but this happens to every company. Work-life balance may not be ideal under pressuring situations.

Pros

There are a lot of challenging projects Opportunities to step up and move up the ladder exist The work environment is friendly and collaborative There are a lot of morale boosting company events

Cons

There can be an overwhelming amount of work Annual employee reviews are inconsistent and the process for getting a recommended raise approved by front office is never-ending and you sometimes never hear back. Employee reviews are submitted to HR and you never hear back There is a feeling of being underpaid and overworked for most with little to no recognition Medical coverage is expensive
