Pros

The people are extremely sweet and day-to-day can be fun.

Cons

No standardized growth path due to blatant favoritism from lazy management. Management will demonize you for using sick and vacation time. The pay is extremely low for market and industry—it’s exploitation. The annual review process for promotions is extremely subjective and vague to repress growth. They ration promotions like it’s dinner time during WW2. There’s a limited amount of promotions (usually 1 or 2 per team). It really does not allow for personal growth. The microaggressions & exploitation towards the Black women is disgusting.

Pros

Honestly.... none. It kills me to say that because when I was first employed years ago, it was so different.

Cons

They try to promote themselves as a “fun brand” that thrives on making people “feel good” and it’s the completely opposite. The goals are ridiculous and it’s ALL ON YOU. Brick & mortar is suffering, online promotions driving our own in-store clients to purchase online, and somehow it’s the teams fault every time. They expect you to give write-ups to team members that don’t hit their sales goals, although 9/10 it’s not their fault. So much anxiety. Not motivating. Nobody from corporate can give you any advice on helping with sales other than “traffic stopping” and shoving mediocre products down peoples throat. Clients come in for services and you have to sell product, or you get reprimanded. This creates a weird vibe with your clients..

Pros

sometimes the staff, gratis, birthday gifts from corporate

Cons

Catty, pretty, nonsensical behavior of management and even employees. It affects your clients and your money. Work besties sit clients with other work besties, avoid speaking you in stores the size of matchboxes, don't expect management to step in they often encourage such behavior if not to take part. All of this bottom line affects your pay, not to mention you must provide completely open availability (no life). Lastly corporate is aware and doesn't care that is why the manager is referred to as a "Boutique Proprietor." When your goal is to be the Starbucks of brows, profit is all that is watched at the end of the day!
