Pros

Casual Environment. Good entry-level opportunities. Lots of people become good friends.

Cons

No Training. No work/life balance. Managers/directors don't listen and most of the time don't care. Many departments are understaffed but nothing is done about it until it is too late.

Pros

Great people to work with Unusual perks - Starbucks, skateboards, massages, fresh organic fruit Good for entry level positions and Temp jobs Occasional "fun" activities to socialize with co-workers

Cons

Each year as the company gets bigger, the importance of the individual lessens and goals fade No clear management standards or feedback system - promotes and retains unqualified managers Long hours, no work-life balance Human Resources Dept completely unhelpful and will not intervene when needed Less and less "Fun" activities and events, and more often expected to work Holidays and unpaid overtime (typically 50 - 60 hours a week without any pay over 40 - the hours are logged, just not paid) CEO speaks about his values, goals and how the company caters to each individual, but makes empty promises and false hopes Employees tend to be promoted based on years with the company rather than how well they qualify

Pros

This is a good place to start off as an entry level software engineer. It was a great place to solidify what I learned in college. They do offer some nice perks but that only goes so far.

Cons

BF puts a ridiculous amount of workload on its engineers. Our contract say 40 hour weeks, but somehow management expects 45 hours on the timesheet. Management expects us to work late and on weekends for promises made to clients without the input from engineering--all for below average pay and limited opportunities.
