Pros

This place still has enough good people and enough potential to make a major image turnaround. It started off a great environment to work in, so the mechanics of a great company are in there somewhere.

Cons

The employees pay the penalty of the fast growth being experienced. There are no perks or rewards, only expectations for working excessively long hours and weekends. Engineers are chastised for working less than 50 hours per week. Long hours weren't a problem in the beginning, when people felt a sense of pride and ownership in their work. Now everyone is being task mastered, which makes the "90 hours a week and loving it" mentality vanish quickly.

Pros

Location, location, location... Charleston is a great place to live.

Cons

Lack of respect, crazy high turnover for a professional environment, crazy upper management, crappy product, highly disfunctional workplace.

Pros

Fast growing company with a lot of upside potential in the marketplace. Clearly is the leader in the space they serve today. Their pay is in line with the industry and in some cases slightly higher than for instance Blackbaud.

Cons

Respect - Right! The security badges say "Respect, Anticipatory service, celebrate" onthe back of them, yet they live and walk a totally different line. They are really good about selling these traits hard to new comers and candidates but after you get in beforewarned, the honeymoon is over! BF is all about making two people wealthy (the CEO and Chairman). Stock options are nill and rarely dolled out and bonsues are reserved for the top. If stock is given out (I never received any) you better have a VP titile behind your name. Once your out of there, they toss you to the curb with just the clothes on your back. It really is ironic how they play up this big respect card yet their "associates" as they call them are treated very poorly. Benefits are a joke, ability to work remotely is very hard to do, the work environment is loud and noisy with the CEO screaming "Yee Haw" and tossing cow bells down the hallways each time his stock goes up due to a new deal.
