Pros

I have been part of the Berkshire Family going on over 11 years. I started as an APM and was given several opportunities to cultivate my craft and provided the support to be successful. Berkshire is a company with a focus on an employees first mentality. Berkshire encourages and welcomes their employees to use their voice to enrich the companies culture. Berkshire understands their employees need support, the proper tools, and encouragement to succeed for the company to be lucrative. Berkshire has a fantastic work life balance philosophy. This allows employees to enjoy life outside of work without expectations. The benefit package sets them apart from the others, with a strong bonus structure for those who excel with their performance. There is ample growth opportunities within the company at this time. Those who who embody integrity, trust, a true stewardship heart, respect for those they work with, and a commitment to excellence, will find a long term home within Berkshire. I am not only a better version of myself as an employee but as a person because of the leadership I have had the privilege to work next to.

Cons

We are growing so much, we need some incredible people really quick to fill our new positions, but I am unsure if that is a true con :)

Pros

Having had the displeasure of working for some of Berkshire's competitors, I can confidently say Berkshire doesn't just push out empty talking points and goals and expect employees to conform without management's support or guidance. Berkshire engages its employees, gives direction and helps employees plan on how to achieve individual and company goals, and cares about the communities where its people are based. Berkshire talks about cultivating it's culture, but not in a "creepy" or "culty" way (I have not seen any Kool-Aid in the break room:)). You are not expected to blindly conform to Berkshire culture, rather, your individual personality and perspective are seen as an addition to the culture that evolves as the company grows. It's a very positive place to work. I don't ever close out my day feeling like the concerns I may have are being ignored or my contribution isn't valued.

Cons

No place is perfect, and refreshingly, Berkshire doesn't try to be. The company is growing quickly, and with that there are growing pains. Thankfully this fact is not being ignored by management. I am confident the company will use it's resources and engage employees on how to best address these growing pains.
