Pros

Fantastic benefits package (vision, medical, dental - reasonably priced), good insurance, stock options, tuition reinbursement. Teaches multitastking like no job I've had before, very fast paced. Every day is something new, and it's a great feeling when a customer compliments you or your staff and comes back for future visits.

Cons

Not enough manpower to cover departments and provide maximum customer satisfaction while accomplishing the many daily merchandising, planning, training, and sales goals set before you. The senior management often assigns ridiculous projects and panics before district visits, which shuts down your ability to focus on sales, team development, and customer satisfaction. Merchandising and store appearance becomes the largest part of the job, meanwhile you have 5-10 customers all jockeying for the attention of 1-2 sales representatives in a department. People are often promoted from within based more on their friendship with managers, rather than qualifications, despite HR attempts to keep the process legitmate. The company often cuts positions and restructures nationwide, making job security somewhat questionable.

Pros

Great place to work. Relaxed yet professional environment. Good opportunity for advancement.

Cons

Somewhat rigid and hierarchical decision making process. Not a ton of input gathered from lower level folks who might have good ideas.
