Pros

-Benefits such as Employee Discount, Vacation hours and accommodations. -Flexible hours -Good Teamwork

Cons

-Skeleton crews across most stores self-limiting growth & causing distress to both coworkers/clients. -Training has become a rushed afterthought instead of investing in ensuring new & current hires are setup for success. -Poor Management lacking ability to push back on bad corporate initiatives & failure always is on frontline employees "not doing enough" leading to low morale. -Declining operational health due to outsourcing labor for services & delayed resolution of issues versus company's past before current CEO. -No clear mission statement for future of company creating fear of job security due to quarterly to bi-quarterly cuts that come out of nowhere.

Pros

* Great work life balance * You get to pick what you work on in most cases

Cons

* Was sexually harassed and they made me work with the person after filing a complaint * Super disorganized org, constantly reorganizing causing teams to be split up and people moved around every year or so * Lots of big company bureaucracy to get simple things like a laptop and permissions to code on them

Pros

The culture has always been a differentiator for Best Buy. People love to work here, and we are encouraged to find more ways to empower our associates and improve the employee experience. I've always felt the pay was competitive. Anyone who complains about pay probably isn't comparing it to a similar job. Additionally, Best Buy rewards movement over mastery, so your raises are much more substantial from promotions rather than just being great at your job.

Cons

Nobody leaves a bad company, they leave a bad boss. Once you have a GM who doesn't like you, it becomes very hard to promote or transfer stores because they will sandbag you when someone calls for their input. We focus so much on promoting from within that we will ask other's input and way they more than the merits of the candidate.
